1973 Norton Combat Commando Restoration

RPM Cycle just acquired a basket case '73 Combat Commando.   The bike had only 3,500 original miles when it was put into storage.  When Keith took off the old Texas license plate he found the original paper red tag underneath (see below).  To everyone's surprise the paper tag was issued by Doc Storm.  It is dated 9-10-73.

We will chronicle the restoration of this classic here on this page.  Come back often and watch the transition.

Now Ready to Ride!!

In the Beginning.

Disassembly just about complete.

Reassembly begins.  The frame was power coated.  The engine was completely disassembled and inspected.  Every part was refurbished or replaced with a new part.  New valve guides were installed and the correct (shorter) push rods  used.  Steve says this was "a virgin engine" and had never been taken apart before.  He said many of the internal components looked brand new.

Looks fast standing still!
